NEW ANTIOCH CEMETERY
NEAR LINDEN, CASS-COUNTY, TEXAS
Thls cemetery was read-03-0CT-1995 by Kenneth & Kathryn McAlexander, Irene Powell,
Gerald Hammock, Bob & Melledene Banks and Melba Tims. It wase read-north to south
starting in the northeast corner.
This cemetery is known te be-predominantly Black.
LOCATION: From red-light ln Llnden,go 4.8 miles on Hwy 59 South to Lanier Friendship
Church. Turn right in front of church on CR 1635. Follow signs to church and cemetery.
Cemetery is behind church through a gate.
The New Antioch Church was lost in the "Bear Creek" wildfire of Sept. 2011, Texas Forest Service officials estimated that as much as 30,000 acres of timber and pasture in Cass and Marion counties had been scorched by wildfires.
The cemetery is in tact but needs care, some graves have been decorated by family members.
Oldest known marked grave:
SlMlNGTON, Aaron 24-JUL-l844 25-AUG-1919
